Larry King

I like Larry King a lot! He's not too soft, but he's not judgemental either. He has class! Connie

I've always been at a loss to appreciate why Larry King is on the air. He's the worst... I don't know what noun to use. He's not a journalist, nor really is he much of an interviewer or even a host. He adds nothing to the experience; he only detracts from such. I read a revealing article on him recently (NYTimes) and his routine of never preparing for an interview so that he can be surprized along with the viewers is absurd. That's just plain lazy and a disservice to the audience. And so, just what does he add to the experience then? Certainly not penetrating questions or insight, merely inane questions and clueless comments that are so simple, broad and prepared or routine that the guests might as well be sitting there alone speaking to the camera on whatever motivates them. Why does this show still have an audience? Because viewers are drawn to the guest roster and the show maintains those lofty line-ups because those guests know that it's the only forum on television where one can go and say the things he or she wishes, uncontested. There's seemingly no chance that the interviewer will know the backstory or enough about current events as they pertain to those being interviewed, or care to pursue greater insights, to warrant concern that the guests might be confronted or probed beyond the superficial. Being overtly critical is not my inclination but this is so glaringly bad that on the rare occasions that I try to tune-in because I'm interested in the guests, I invariably come away disappointed and frustrated by the missed opportunity for any insight. Really, the list is long as to who could do a better job. I'll avoid the temptation to define what that low bar looks like with an example, lest I sacrifice my credibility with humor or an unnecessarily demeaning comparison. This is a man who believes that Ryan Seacrest is the right guy to replace him, and that says a lot about Larry and exposes just how insignificant his contribution is to the program and how much gets squandered in what could be a revealing format.

Well good thing you weren't trying to bass Larry King (Portereleanmills). While you are free to express your opinion no one asked you to write a novel. While this may be your view of this man and the show you do not need to degrade nor so strongly judge him. You act like you have a personal vendetta against this man or the sponsors who carry him. I enjoy listening to him and I find him to be a very articulate individual. With all of this high degree of word games you seem to enjoy using you may want to invest in spell check. do have a good night

To:GTDRYER, This is concerning.I mean your thought process. How long have you been feeling this way? Have you been waiting impatiently for the day of judgement as well? I would hope that you would perhaps try to get some help.
