Barack Obama

Steve Kroft takes us inside the life of Barack Obama: behind the scenes on the campaign trail, at home with his family and on a tour of his old Chicago neighborhood. Kroft challenges Obama on the issues he will have to overcome: his admitted drug use in the past and his relative lack of political experience as he runs for president in 2008.

I feel that Barack is a fine man, and from what I can tell at this point is the 'type' of president the US will need (someday with more experiance) but I also feel that he at this point he would be best as a running mate under John Edwards this time around. Edwards/Obama

It is Obama's multipersonal persona that is most needed in a time where American must reclaim a sense of true heritage. America needs a diplomatic president who can speak to all global factions. It is his lack of international experience that will allow him to have a fresh approach to old stagnant stances....

It is really uplifting to see Barack announce his candidacy for the President of the United states of America the other day. His message resonates wide and far accross the nation and also around the world, who is looking to America to be this becon of HOPE for many people who are under abject poverty and under Tyrany, and serve as a model for the world a type of government of of, by and for the people. The current administration ubdicated their responsibility, and Barack may ressurect that image again. Sometimes people choose their time, and sometimes the Time chooses the people. I believe this time, the TIME has choosen Barack to lead this nation, and the world, to the 21st century. Daniel Amde

I consider myself (scratch that) I am a conservative and have been a registered republican since I was 18 (am 43 now). I have always gone by way of the conservative agenda and still do (and always will). However I feel republicans, President Bush, and the republican agenda have made a mess of our country the past few years. I like Senator Obama's cander and "down to earth personality" for a young politician he seems to have a grasp of what we need to get our country going in the right direction. I obviously don't support all his idealogy but I believe he really has the country's best interest in mind. If the republicans don't get their act together I may have to vote democrat. As far as his experience I don't think being a first lady (Hilary Clinton) counts as political experience plus she is weak. Vote republican over her anytime.

Why not? I think it will take a diplomatic person of color with integrity to actualize a real reconciliation of those nations the Bush administration has disturbingly alienated itself from. Another white male as president may not be the route to go for a counry who is literally looked upon as the KKK of the world at this time.
