Dixie Chicks

The Dixie Chicks led the Grammys with 5 Awards - including song and record of the year for "Not Ready To Make Nice." The tune is the Texas trio's response to the furor created by lead singer Natalie Maines' anti-Bush comments on the eve of the Iraq war. Correspondent Steve Kroft met the Chicks on their home turf in the Lone Star State to talk about music, politics and making babies. The conversation continued in California, where Natalie, Emily & Martie had a lot to say.

I love the Dixie Chicks!! At least they have opinions and are not afraid to express them. Give me a group that my daughter can look up too that has three strong women who are mothers and wives and who are also incredibility talented than some one like Britney Spears who can’t seem to put on underwear.

It is what they said and they way they said it and where they said it that was wrong. Simply put they shouldn't of said they were embarressed that the President was from their home state. He is not a common George, he is is after all, the President of the United States of America. They could of chose a number of different, less redneck ways to say they don't agree with the war or his policies. I also think we should let this all go, they are making way too much money off of the contination of their stupidity.

I think the Dixie Chicks are true artists. They are brave and honest. They, unlike most Americans, are not sheep. They do not follow so much as they lead. I am from the South, and believe me, there are people there who are so afraid to be themselves, that they will do anything in their power to prevent others from being self-actualized. It is a sad day indeed when our freedom to be who we are, in a Nation founded on said freedom, is being taken away from us. SPEAK UP GIRLS ! SPEAK UP LOUD AND STRONG !

to disagree with the president and his politics, not to mention the mess he has caused in iraq, is their opinion. the people saying that the dixie chicks were wrong are also expressing their opinions. this is america and we can say how we feel. are we supposed to sit back and not question our president? let him have his way with whatever he wants? i believe the president is wrong in so many ways, not to mention many of the things he has done i consider illegal. what kind of country is this if people can't say how they feel without having their lives threatened. it's ridiculous!

Bring it on Chicks! You are all are smart, talented and enjoyable!! You are entitled to have an opinon and we applaud you for having it - unlike the "Barbie-Dolls" called "Pop-Stars". Besides, they haven't said ANYTHING that Barbara Streisand, Susan Surrandon, Bob Dylan, John Mellancamp, Don Henley haven't said before them....
