Tiger Woods is the type of athlete who comes along not once in a generation, but perhaps once in the history of a sport. For the last decade, he has dominated professional golf so completely that he has changed the game.

  • The nickname "Tiger" was given to him by his father, Earl. This is the same nickname Earl gave to a Vietnamese friend and soldier while serving in Vietnam. Tiger's birth name is Eldrick T. Woods.
